Our commitments

Ever more nature-friendly formulas

Helping to protect the planet and preserve its resources is one of our priorities, and we pay particular attention to it throughout our value chain: from the selection of active ingredients of natural origin to packaging and formulation.

In line with our clean beauty* commitments, our strict formulation charter also takes into account the impact of our formulas on the environment. To formulate our skincare products, we give priority to active ingredients of natural origin, of controlled geographical origin and derived from non-polluting green extraction methods.

We refrain from using materials regulated by CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora). We follow a responsible sourcing and purchasing policy, in particular through the evaluation of our suppliers by the EcoVadis rating organization. For our exfoliants, we do not use any plastic microbeads, but only exfoliating particles of natural origin (in compliance with regulations). An eco-design approach to packaging

For our packaging, we have been committed to an eco-design approach for several years, and in fact won an award as early as 2014 at the Sustainable Beauty Awards, for our exclusive eco-designed 50ml lightened jar. As part of our continuous improvement approach, we evolve our packaging with each new product development or renovation, in order to improve their carbon footprint.

For example:

- The packaging for the new Merveillance LIFT skincare launched in January 2022 has reduced the amount of plastic by 35% and cardboard by 22%(1).

- For our NUXE BIO range, we have used recycled materials: up to 90% recycled glass for the 50ml jars.

- The Christmas 2021 boxes have been designed with 0% plastic and 100% FSC-certified recyclable cardboard from eco-managed forests, resulting in the use of 6 tons less plastic per box reference (2).

The aim is to reduce the use of plastic in our packaging by 20% by 2025.

100% vegetarian care, 90% vegan care

We have always been sensitive to animal welfare.

That's why 100% of our NUXE products are vegetarian, meaning they contain no animal ingredients. 90% of our skincare products are also vegan (formulated without ingredients or derivatives of animal origin). Only the Rêve de Miel® range and Very Rose lip balm contain beehive products (honey, wax, etc.), recognized for their unique benefits. What's more, in line with the vegan philosophy and in compliance with current European regulations, NUXE does not test any of its finished products on animals, nor the ingredients they contain.

Did you know?

NUXE is committed to protecting wildlife. We've been helping to save bees by sponsoring beehives with Un Toit Pour les Abeilles since 2010. We are also fighting against coastal plastic pollution with the OCEANOPLASTIC association in France, to preserve the oceans and the marine species that live there.

Our NUXE Sun sun protectors contribute to respecting the marine environment: they have been tested on the marine eco-system (algae and bacteria representative of marine life) and are water-resistant for swimming.

Acting for gender equality

Founded by a daring entrepreneur, the NUXE Group has many female employees. NUXE has always been committed to professional equality among its employees, and its gender equality index stands at 97/100(3).

Nevertheless, NUXE is continuing its efforts to further improve this (already very good) score.

For 2023, NUXE will ensure that all employees returning from maternity leave are treated equally, and that any differences in remuneration are based on objective criteria.
